Welcome to Skerries Golf Club
Skerries Golf Club, founded in 1905, is a championship 18 hole parkland golf course located approximately six miles east of the Dublin - Belfast M1 Motorway and just twenty minutes North of Dublin Airport. Renouned for its undulating fairways, strategically positioned bunkers, and an abundance of varied and mature trees, it measures 6107 metres from the medal tees and challenges golfers of all abilities with a par of 73 for men and 74 for ladies. Boasting one of the most spectacular finishing holes in Ireland, it also provides magnificent panoramic views of the Irish Sea and coastline extending from the Mountains of Mourne to Howth. Visitors are extremely welcome and never disappointed with their Skerries golfing experience.

Captains’ Message
We are both delighted to be elected as Captain of our respective Golf Clubs for the year 2013. Thank you for all your kind words of encouragement. Your good wishes, we know, will be backed up by your support, essential to making our year in Office a successful one.
The primary function of Skerries Golf Club is to provide quality Golfing facilities for its Members and visitors. The Club has been very fortunate in past years in that our superb course has rightly received much praise for its condition, particularly during the main playing season. Unfortunately what appears to be a major change in weather patterns has, over the past 12 months, resulted in an extraordinary amount of rainfall. This has in turn led to less than ideal playing conditions. We are committed to working with our Committees, sub Committees and any required external expertise, to ensure that, in so far as is possible, this issue will be addressed in the coming year.
As Captains we will continue to support the hardworking Junior/Juvenile Committee in their work. The continuation of our Club into the future is dependent on our volunteers spreading their love of the game of golf, and indeed of Skerries Golf Club, to today’s youth.
We, supported by our Vice Captains Gerry and Sylvia, will give our team managers and players whatever assistance they need in their efforts to win the various interclub trophies. The Skerries Golf Club colours and crest are, thanks to the valiant efforts of many famous players and previously successful teams, widely recognised and admired in inter club team golf. It is therefore hugely important that all our teams continue to take to the field of battle proudly wearing the Club colours and crest.
On the Social side we would hope to play our part by attending each of the Social events planned for the coming year and to encourage all Members to support such events when possible. The continued rejuvenation of the Saturday mixed competition will receive our full support and participation. Hopefully the “old” mixed brigade can be encouraged to once again join in and restore the “Mixed” Saturday evening to its former glory.
We also ask Members to bring your friends along to appropriate Club functions. Indeed the casual social use of our high quality Clubhouse facilities by you and your friends is also encouraged.
Visitors are, of course, more than welcome to drop in, have a bite to eat in our first class restaurant or to enjoy a game of golf at very reasonable rates. You are guaranteed a warm welcome by our friendly and efficient bar, restaurant and Golf Course staff.
Finally we wish all Members and visitors health and happiness throughout the year- we will hopefully see you on the fairways or in the Clubhouse during 2013.
